Weekly classes for 4 & 5 year old kinder kids and primary school aged children, in years Prep (foundation), 1, 2 or 3).

We offer the following programs during the term:

These programs are not offered for casual booking, please see our Open Studio classes for casual bookings.

Bookings are accepted after the term has begun, we just need to check availability and advise pro rata fee. 

YOUNG ARTISTS
Drop Off
​Monday: 4:30pm-5:45pm (Term 2, 9 wks)
Saturday: 9:30am - 10:15am (Term 2, 10 wks)

For children who are in their last year of KINDER or PREP (Foundation) level at school.

Home School students welcomed.

The program is designed to encourage a love for art creating as the children explore a range of fine art techniques and craft based projects. The program has a structured one hour technique development and project making stage and concludes with 15 minutes of creative art making in our art station area. Our art station area has stations that invite the children to openly creative with the materials, this might be independently or collaboratively. It allows the children to unwind from a big week at Kinder or School through creative art making whilst continuing to develop their social skills and friendship making - key learning stage for our Kinder & Prep children.

Our Junior Artists will explore a range of visual art techniques with the fundamental basis of drawing and painting driving our projects. As an experienced teacher, Rachael understands that children of this age also love a tactile approach to creating, therefore her team of teachers will bring in experiences of sculpting and printmaking, as well as enjoying handicraft and textiles based creating.  

 

Critical thinking and problem solving skills are enhanced as we teach the Junior Artists about idea development and material exploration. Sometimes our imagined ideas don't match our creative hands and that's ok. It's learning how to adjust our creative thinking that becomes important in executing a finished artwork.

Cartooning has become an all time favourite in the studio! It is a fun way to view people and the world. Kids just love creating in such a style and there are loads of cartooning and drawing techniques that can be learnt. We have teamed this up with paint so our cartoon artists can also enjoy various colour elements.

Welcome to our Sculpture and Clay Class designed exclusively for kids! In this exciting course, budding artists will embark on a journey of creativity as they learn the intricate art of sculpting in two and three dimensions. Through hands-on exploration with a variety of sculpting materials such as armature wire, foil, mod cloth, paper mache, cardboard, paper, clay, plaster, and more, children will unleash their imaginations and bring their ideas to life.
 

Throughout the course, young artists will delight in the process of conceptualising their sculptures in 2D plans from multiple perspectives. They'll then dive into the fascinating world of construction, learning how to create sturdy casts and bring their visions to fruition. From shaping the structure to applying finishing touches with paint and intricate embellishments, each step of the journey will be a celebration of creativity and self-expression.
